Hen Keeping Courses |
Our popular one-day chicken courses were launched in 2005 to give advice and help to new chicken keepers, as well as to people who kept chickens in the past and are keen to get started again.
Due to popular demand, the courses are given at your home by Philip, plus projector & demonstration hen. If you already have hens- all the better. Invite as many freinds as you like to reduce the price per person. It's an interesting day and you go away with enough information and tips to get off to a good start. Why a Chicken Keeping Course? |
One of the attractions of chickens is that they are so flexible, and with good management will thrive in a wide variety of situations, from allotment to city garden, or remote farm yard. Whether your priority is to keep two to three birds as pets to enhance a garden, or larger numbers to provide family and friends with top quality eggs, it pays to get off on the right foot with the help of some good sound advice. Our courses are designed to cater for your individual needs and are attended by adults and children. You are given professional advice and information about the care and management of domestic hens, with lots of helpful tips to give you the best possible start. We discuss housing, runs, feeding and management, equipment, common ailments and treatment, predators, how to produce the best eggs, making your hens happy, and much, much more. After the Course, you can benefit from ongoing support by phone or e-mail if unexpected issues arise - all included in the price. |
